Australia-Asia Literary Award
David Malouf has been announced as the inaugural winner of the region’s richest literary prize, the Australia-Asia Literary Award. He has received AUD110,000 for The Complete Stories, described by judges as ‘effectively a lifetime’s mastery of the short story form.’
The annual award, sponsored by the Western Australian Government, goes to a work of literary fiction written by an author primarily resident in the region, or to a book set in the region.
